Public Speaking Seminars

A public speaking seminar can provide you with the skills and abilities to reach your goals and achieve your outcomes - but, before you invest any time or energy in a public speaking seminar you should first get clear by answering some important questions.

First, public speaking seminars really do come in "all shapes and sizes" - here's some info you need to know:

  • Some public speaking seminars are designed primarily to give you "public speaking and platform skills"; Those public speaking seminars are going to focus on the "mechanics" of public speaking. Typically that will include basic speech development as well as speech delivery.

  • Other public speaking seminars are geared toward giving you skills to present yourself in the media spotlight. There are specific companies that specialized in teaching you how to communicate in "media sound bytes" as well as how to present yourself when on camera.

  • There are also public speaking seminars that claim to teach you how to become a highly paid speaker - frankly, I very, very strongly caution you if you're thinking about going down this path, or have already started down this road and are looking for help. I would highly suggest you contact me by phone or email (phone is more reliable) and I'll tell you what to watch out for so you don't end up wasting a lot of time and money, or worse, get scammed.

  • Finally, the public speaking seminars I've done over the years have focused on how to make money - but not by collecting speaking fees, rather by generating a surge of new business and income using speaking and seminars as a marketing and promotion tool for lead generation and lead conversion. My public speaking seminars are also for those seeking to be able to present in a professional environment.

So - I started out saying that you need to get clear on your goals and outcomes and ask yourself some important questions:

Before you even start searching for public speaking seminars, the main question you need to get clear on is exactly that your goal(s) and outcome(s) are.

Start at the finish line:

  • What do you hope to be able to do, be, or achieve as a result of taking public speaking seminars?

  • Are you just looking to conquer stage fright or fear of public speaking?

  • Are you wanting presentation skills, how to structure a speech and deliver it?

  • Are you in need of public speaking seminars that will teach you to effectively lead or persuade or professionally present in a business environment?

  • Are you seeking the ability to quickly and inexpensively market yourself and promote your business, your product, your service?

  • Or are you in need of the ability to present professionally and effectively in a professional business environment?

The clearer you are about exactly, precisely, specifically what you hope to achieve by attending a public speaking seminar or training or workshop, the more likely you'll be to achieve your goals.
