3 Persuasive
Speech Topics
Looking for a persuasive speech topic? Look
no further, you've come to the right place!
Let's take a look at 3 persuasive speech topics
that have stood the test of time.
These are timeless topics that will always be
in demand, and will always have a persuasive effect
on an audience.
Be sure to also read my public speaking training
article on how
to write and deliver a persuasive speech -
combine those elements with one of the 3 persuasive
speech topics here and you've got a winning speech
or presentation every time.
Persuasive speech topic #1: Health
Health will always be a persuasive speech topic.
When it comes to speaking about health, speaking
about prevention is a lot less persuasive than
speaking about cure.
In working with Doctors in various capacities
I've observed objectively that very few people
take preventative actions with respect to their
health.
However, as soon as they have a health problem
they'll do almost anything to alleviate that.
So does that mean you need to seek out an audience
full of sick people?-no, that won't be necessary.
If your topic is health-related you can certainly
speak to a roomful of healthy folks - demonstrate
your expertise and what you can do for them and
you'll be the expert they call on when they do
have a health problem.
Persuasive speech topic #2: Wealth
Although this is #2 on our list, this is actually
the top topic of all time.
Until money is extinct, people will want to know
about how to generate money and how not to lose
money.
Making money is always a popular topic. And people
will go to great lengths not to lose money as
well.
Some have suggested that people will do far more
to avoid losing money than they will to gain it.
No matter how you slice it, wealth is a topic
that will never go out of style and will always
be popular with people.
Persuasive speech topic #3: Celebrity
The word "fan" is an abbreviation of the word
"fanatical" - and many, many people are fanatical
when it comes to people who are famous.
So do you have to be a celebrity to take advantage
of this persuasive speech topic?
Absolutely not! If you've had contact with a
famous and well-known celebrity and can spin a
compelling story, people will flock to hear it.
