Persuasive Speech Examples

Persuasive speech examples are all around you and very easy to find.

The mistake most people make when looking for persuasive speech examples is trying to think them up out of thin air - they open up a new document in a word processor, than stare at a blank screen trying to figure out what their persuasive speech should be about.

Don't do that!

Here are four terrific sources for persuasive speech examples - this will give you more choices than you'll know what to do with - and at the very least, will give put you in the right direction to creating your persuasive speech.

Persuasive speech examples source #1: The Internet

Try Google-ing "persuasive speech examples". I did that and, frankly, came up with in my opinion a bunch of stuff I would never want to give a speech about. But then, that's just me.

You may find topics that are, to you, pure gold.

Persuasive speech examples source #2: Things that really piss you off

And that you know a lot of other people are really angry about as well.

Here's a huge, giant hint: don't try to persuade people, tap into what they already think and feel and you've got the basis of a terrifically persuasive speech.

Persuasive speech examples source #3: Pain & agony

If you're in business for yourself, stop and make a list of the pains and agonies that your customers complain about.

Look for the commonalities and common themes.

Chances are you'll have a chance to speak to those pains and agonies, and this will form the basis of a very, very persuasive speech.

Persuasive speech examples source #4: The "cure" to problems

The reality is that cure sells much, much better than prevention, and that means that the solutions (or "cure") to existing painful problems make for an extremely persuasive speech, examples can come from your own business and personal experience.

This is a point not to be missed - a truly persuasive speech that focuses on prevention will get you lots of head nods and agreement, but no one will take action. Trust me; this is based on my direct experience giving lots and lots of speeches, workshops, seminars and talks for the past 20-plus years.

Cure sells, prevention does not.
